Enterprise přichází varovat obyvatele planety Sarpeidon, jejíž slunce se má změnit v novu. Při výsadku na povrch však lidé z Enterprise zjišťují, že obyvatelé planety už odešli – někam, kde by je nikdo nehledal a kam není radno je následovat.
